About Kathi

Meet Kathi Kersznowski, a Technology Integration Specialist at Washington Township Public Schools in New Jersey. She enjoys her role as an educational technology leader for her entire district and beyond.

Kathi has worked as an elementary teacher, a special education teacher, a computer teacher, and has a Master’s Degree in School Administration. She is a blogger, keynote speaker, and presenter on various educational technology, STEM/STEAM, and leadership topics. She has been named in the 100 NJ Educators to Follow on Twitter, has been featured on the Women in Education Leadership podcast, was interviewed about Microsoft’s Learning Tools for the #Edtechchat podcast, featured on Ditch That Textbook podcast to speak about her idea to use Flipgrid for a fun digital scavenger hunt called a Fliphunt, featured on the Flipgrid Voice Rockstar blog, was recently quoted in “106 Experts Share Their Thoughts on the Future of Education”, and is a former district Teacher of the Year. She has been published in ASCD Inservice, DisruptED Magazine, eSchoolNews, and the Edcamp Newsletter. She is also a lead organizer for Edcamp Happy Camper, and has facilitated the certification process for Future Ready Schools New Jersey for all eleven schools in her district! Kathi was most recently awarded Flipgrid’s highest honor: Student Voice Champion of the Year. She says that her greatest professional accomplishment was being able to secure a donation of 180 webcams from Empatico so that every elementary teacher in her entire school district could begin to connect their students globally. Her district is the first Empatico school district in the world!

Kathi is an ambassador for several popular edtech companies, including Empatico, Buncee, Seesaw, Wakelet, and Flipgrid. She is also a #TeachSDGs ambassador. She is a proud Microsoft MIEExpert and Master Trainer. She enjoys traveling nationally and internationally to edtech conferences to learn and present. Last year, she proudly co-presented about the importance of creating global connections on the Arena Main Stage at BETT in London. She is the keynote speaker at Vernon Tech Conference on the topic of Global Learning: It Makes a World of Difference.
